THE BIG PICTURE

High Electric Bills Are the Tip of the Iceberg – “U.S. electric rates are going up. In Missouri, Ameren increased residential power bills by 11% less than two years ago, and now it is seeking another 15% increase, per the Public Service Commission (PSC). According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), rate increases were experienced in 43 American states between 2023 and 2024. All of these companies are publicly owned, and they are just a tiny fraction of the American electric companies working to appease their top shareholders: BlackRock and Vanguard. During the Jan. 15 public hearing to discuss Ameren Missouri’s proposed rate increase, Ameren Missouri vice president of regulatory and legislative affairs Warren Wood noted that the $446-million overall increase was proposed to offer a “fair return to shareholders.”” – Jessica Marie Baumgartner  – HOW ABOUT A FAIR RETURN FOR THE CUSTOMER. BUT WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO IT, IT’S THE STATE’S ELECTED OR APPOINTED OFFICIALS WHO ARE ALLOWING THIS!!!

State Bills Grant Pfizer-Style Immunity to Pesticide Manufacturers That Give People Cancer – “This week in “government by special interest,” flyover country is awash in agricultural chemicals — and it’s only going to get flooded harder in the near future if a raft of proposed legislation is any indication. Slap a tiny label no one is going to read on your techno-toxin, hide behind the veil of authority of the EPA, and you too can get off scot-free with slaughtering and maiming the peasants with the state seal of approval — provided, obviously, that you have enough cash on hand to divvy out to legislators.” – Ben Bartee

Myocarditis Alert – “Well, first, they developed, on purpose, a bioweapon called COVID. It was not deadly enough and didn’t even touch the young. Then the scum of the earth developed mRNA genetic vaccines, which were much more lethal than the gain of function virus. They killed many with the injections, millions. Also built into the horror story is the heart damage, which are promising a slow but steadily rising death rate.” – Dr. Sircus

NEWS

Darkness Dying – “The exorcism of the USA just keeps revving up. You can tell by the number of revolutions-per-minute Elizabeth Warren’s head spins while she spews pea soup at the cameras. Who knew what a demon-infested slough USA Management Central was? And yes, I would like some insight as to how humble civil servants like Liz Warren accrue a $12-million fortune . . . and $30-million for Samantha Power (ex-USAID-chief) . . . and more than $150-million for Nancy Pelosi. Could it be as simple as just good stock-picking?  You have reason to suspect that what goes on in Washington DC is the greatest racketeering operation ever run on God’s green earth.  “A threat to our democracy!” the Party of Chaos spouted incessantly during the election campaign in re: Donald J. Trump. “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” You begin to detect that by “our democracy” they actually meant “our everlasting grift.” And it didn’t die in darkness — it thrived, grew, and spread in the moist bureaucratic darkness like the Devil’s own slime mold. And now it is being revealed, to the astonished disgust of slightly more than half the nation that was not on-the-take.” – James Howard Kunstler – MR. Pam Bondi lays waste to the lawless Garland regime – “Attorney General Pam Bondi has barely been in office for a week but has already sent a clear and welcome message that the Justice Department is under new management. On Wednesday, Bondi announced she had filed a lawsuit against the state of New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY), and New York Attorney General Letitia James for what she said was prioritizing “illegal aliens over American citizens.” Bondi has vowed to restore the independence of the DOJ following the Biden administration’s frequent use of the department as a political tool.” – Washington Examiner

Carpetbagger Pete – “No longer Mayor Pete. Pete Buttigieg removed the pronouns from his X account. Political junkies had an inkling as to why. Pete wants a Senate seat. Off to the middle he goes! Polling is already out despite no official statement. Mayor Pete has an uphill climb ahead of him. One of Buttigieg’s biggest weaknesses in a Michigan Senate race is the fact that he is not from Michigan and has no deep personal or political ties to the state. Buttigieg is originally from South Bend, Indiana, where he served as mayor before running for president in 2020. Mayor Pete is a clawing creature, grasping for power wherever he can. He cannot win statewide in Indiana, as the last time he tried, he was trounced by over 25% of the vote. He knew his future would have to be elsewhere” – Dixiecrat

Who is Investigating Elon Musk’s $Billions in Government Contracts? 5 Inspector Generals Who Were Investigating Musk’s Government Contracts Fired – “As Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) continue to target agencies to eliminate “government spending waste”, apparently these agencies and programs that DOGE is targeting do not include the ones that have made Elon Musk into the world’s richest man through government subsidies. Tesla became the best-selling EV in the U.S. largely, if not entirely, on government subsidies, as have many of his other companies, especially SpaceX, which ONLY sells its products (rockets, satellites, etc.) to the U.S. Government, and are 100% funded via U.S. taxpayer dollars.” – Brian Shilhavy

Thanks For The $100,000, Mr. President, Or The Eternal Life of Axed Federal Bureaucrats – “As of 2024, average Federal pay is $101,610 per employee, plus another $44,021 of fringes and benefits. And the buyout offer is two-thirds of this total compensation package of $145,631. Or to be precise, what is being issued in the name of cleaning up the Swamp is a $96,955 reward for not much contribution to the national good; and also a ticket to hang-around the beltway waiting to be rehired by a NGO or contractor.. In all, therefore, the Trumpites have just shelled out $7.3 billion, but with no guarantee whatsoever that a rebound like the one from the Reagan 90,000 cut won’t be repeated.  Musk’s warning that agencies must be terminated, programs killed and policies permanently changed to shrink the role of government is crucial. It’s the only thing that can prevent this $7.3 billion from being utterly wasted.” – David Stockman

The Teutonic Tragedy – “What has happened in Germany is not subtle: prices have not only risen, but the unreliability of renewables has made them wildly volatile. This is ravaging industry. German heavy and chemical industry was based on 2 things: a large workforce of skilled tradesmen/technicians and cheap, reliable electricity. I’m not sure how much more government intrusion and mandatory cultural enrichment the Deutchlanders are supposed to take. “El Gato Malo

Well what do you know? – “Leading into the November election, we had tons of government officials and the media telling us that the economy was actually fantastic. Bidenomics was considered a viable point for Democrats to run on. Everything they said claimed it to be so. Well, their gambit didn’t pay off. The American people knew better, and they voted accordingly.” – Tom Knighton

5 New Tax Cuts from Trump – “Last week Trump’s based spokeswoman announced his tax plans for the coming year. It’s a beauty. While Congress writes tax law, Presidents set out the kind of bill they’d like to see from Congress. The new cuts are no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on social security payments. Along with increasing the so-called Salt Cap that hits rich people in blue states. Plus — and this one’s key — a new tax cut specifically for Made in America products. Trump’s floated this at 15%.” – Peter St Onge

Gold-Silver Ratio: Silver Breakout Incoming? – “Gold has reached new all-time highs, and the gold-to-silver ratio now exceeds 90:1. Such a high ratio has often signaled an impending breakout for silver prices. It indicates that silver could be undervalued, and we may be on the verge of a major price surge. Sometimes, if you miss a price run-up for gold, you can make up for it by buying silver instead as it catches up to its yellow cousin.” – Peter Schiff

Gold hits records and silver stirs – “Behind precious metal markets is new evidence of growing European investor demand at the retail level, while Comex deliveries continue at an elevated rate. It has been a week of new highs for gold, and silver appears to have broken out of its torpor only this morning.” – Alasdair Macleod

Don’t Sleep On Silver – “If you ask for my opinion, it’s not a question of if silver gets to triple digits, it’s just a question of when. I think silver’s next run higher will be its best in history, fueled by more retail exposure now than ever, and a favorable gold-to-silver ratio. As a primer, retail investors favor silver over gold primarily due to its affordability, growth potential, industrial demand, and perceived market suppression.” – Quoth the Raven

The Big One – “He may not like the Fed’s policies much, but President Trump sure seems to like the central bank’s methods. Yesterday was “THE BIG ONE: RECIPROCAL TARIFFS!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump had flagged earlier that his team was working on reciprocal tariffs, and before the actual press announcement, this Truth gave another bit of forward guidance. Moreover, one can certainly wonder what Trump finds so unfair about VAT. The system is commonly applied on all goods sold, whether imported or domestically produced. So it appears that, within any country, a VAT does not favor domestic products over US exports. But there may be some method to this madness. The US President wants to rebalance trade flows, and nudging countries off the VAT system might be a means to that end.ns to that end.” – Bas van Geffen

SURVIVAL, PREPAREDNESS AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY

The Best Prepping Items You Can Buy At Garage Sales – “From tools and camping gear to clothing and food storage containers, garage sales offer a wide variety of essentials that are often sold at a fraction of their retail price. For preppers, the appeal of garage sales lies in their unpredictability and the potential for unique finds. Unlike retail stores, garage sales are not curated for survivalists, which means you might stumble upon rare or discontinued items that are no longer available in stores.” – Bob Rodgers
